For those that missed our Nov. tour of Mark Chatterley's studio and home, you missed a real treat. From the minute we arrived on site and exited our cars, to walking into the backyard, entering the studio and his home, sculptures were everywhere, some even peeking from behind trees and bushes. This amazing artist has his work in museums, as well as installed at outdoor installations nationally and internationally. some as far away as New Zealand. Mr. Chatterley has been creating and teaching art of 40 years. He spoke of how he has over the years created his own unique recipe for the clay and the glazes he uses. One of the highlights of this tour for me was checking out the enormous kiln that he uses to fire his massive sculptures and how he gets them in and out. This is one artist and studio is well worth another road trip.
